C2 is the top of the CEFR scale: reading almost any text with ease, including abstract, complex or highly idiomatic ones, and catching fine shades of meaning. Few learners need to go that far, but reading at C1–C2 keeps an advanced language from slipping and fills the last gaps in vocabulary.
The texts here are close to what native readers find in serious long-form journalism: long sentences with several clauses, terms from different disciplines and an argument that develops over the whole piece, such as the question of why some nations became rich and others did not.
At this stage, context helps more than a dictionary. Look a word up to confirm a guess rather than to discover its meaning, and pay attention to collocations: which verbs go with which nouns. If you need a break from dense prose, the B2–C1 articles are a good place for it.
